A MEA Attestation certificate is an official document issued by a university or educational institution that confirms the language in which a student was taught during their academic program. It certifies that the medium of instruction for lectures, examinations, and coursework was a specific language (typically English). This certificate is commonly required by credential evaluation bodies such as WES, IQAS, ECE, and PEBC for immigration, higher education, and professional licensing purposes abroad.

MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) attestation is the central-level verification of Indian documents by the Government of India, confirming their authenticity for use abroad. It is the second-to-last step before apostille or embassy attestation.
No. Apostille is a type of MEA attestation used for Hague member countries (a sticker with an MEA seal). Regular MEA attestation (a stamp) is used for non-Hague countries that then require embassy attestation.
Educational documents need HRD or notary/SDM attestation first, personal documents need Home Department or SDM attestation, and commercial documents need Chamber of Commerce attestation before MEA will attest them.
Since 2012, MEA no longer accepts documents directly from individuals. All documents must be submitted through MEA-outsourced agencies like us to ensure smooth processing.
After the state-level step is complete, MEA attestation or apostille is normally completed in 2 to 5 working days. Total timeline including state attestation is 7 to 15 working days.
MEA charges Rs. 50 per apostille sticker but no fee for normal attestation. The overall cost includes state-level fees, notary, courier, and our service charges, quoted upfront as a fixed package.
MEA attestation has no official expiry. However, many embassies and employers accept only attestations done within the last 3 to 6 months. Always check the receiving authority's current rule.
